What is a wave start?

A wave start is the time category is sent off in the swim. This is coordinated by the Swim Cap Colour assigned to the race category you have entered in. For example, if you are Male 25-29 Pink Cap Black Print, you will need to start with this group, which may be a different time to another wave of the same colour such as Female 45-49 Pink Cap Black Print.

It’s important to note both the cap colour and the category you are entered in. Your race e-Guide and Wave Starts will be posted to our website and emailed out at 5pm on Wednesday of race week.
